Meet Othleo Gemin

Founder of TradeCollect

Othleo Gemin is the founder of TradeCollect and specialises in tax law and customs, with a focus on international trade and cross-border transactions.

 

He obtained his Master’s degree in Tax Law in 2009 from VU University Amsterdam, specialising in indirect taxation. Following his graduation, he began his career at EY, where he advised on customs matters, international trade, and indirect tax. His technical expertise was further strengthened by completing the Postgraduate Programme in Customs at Erasmus University.

 

Between 2016 and 2023, Othleo worked as an in-house tax specialist. During this period, he focused on complex issues at the intersection of customs valuation, transfer pricing, and international supply chains, as well as the practical interaction between tax and customs regulations.

 

Othleo is a member of the Dutch Association of Tax Advisers and serves as an editor for Douane Update, where he analyses and comments on case law in the fields of customs, excise duties, and value added tax.
